We are already working with one of the region’s largest retailers and in the process of forging further partnerships with companies and organisations in the surrounding areas. This is an exciting time, and signals a continued commitment to strengthening our international client portfolio across Europe, India, US and the Middle East.

Continuing our commitment to our international development, Julia Cook and Shanawas Babu, recently attended ReTech Con organised by the Retailers Association of India (RAI) Conference in Mumbai.

Day one was about meeting retailers at our stand and engaging with key stakeholders

Day two, we had our workshop on how “Change management can help grow your organisation” (focusing on change management for IT projects) which was very well recieved.

Overall it was an enjoyable and successful trip, laying further foundations for CMG to set up an office into India in 2011.

… The discussion centred on the role of IT in the new economy.  Two themes emerged from this:

  • The evolving phenomenon of globalisation, with jobs migrating from western countries to low-cost economies, and the increasing need for IT-based communications to manage the flow of information.  The discussion noted the slow take up of newer technologies (e.g. Google Apps, social networking) by small and large corporate and government organisations, and the mixed experience of early IT and Business Process outsourcing contracts

  • The opportunity for the UK to become global leaders in design and innovation to counter the migration of traditional industries, and the advantage of embracing this opportunity rather over the natural tendency to fight globalisation.  The UK is particularly well placed for this, with excellent research capability, a time zone that overlaps the business day of most developed countries, and outstanding international travel links.
