Managing Partner

Julia has delivered change projects in the consumer products industry for 20 years, for clients including Tesco, BhS, Trinity Mirror, The Kingfisher Group and B&Q. She has a strong IT background and has developed IT strategies and implemented systems for companies including Whirlpool, Reebok, Tesco, an NHS Trust, two dot.com retailers and a music company. Prior to creating CMG in 1999, she led an IT development company, and held roles at a dot.com business, The Disney Store, and Ernst & Young. Julia is a Trustee for The Consortium for Street Children.

Alan Howarth 
Chairman

Alan has a portfolio of non-executive positions with Adili plc, Gresham Computing plc, Highams Group plc, CRF Health Inc., Chamberlin plc, and a number of smaller private national and international companies. He also has public sector responsibilities, particularly in the health sector. For nearly two decades, Alan was a senior partner with Ernst & Young and subsequently served as Managing Director of Compass Management Consulting Ltd. 

 

John Hoerner
Advisory Board Chairman

John has unparalleled experience in the retail sector both in the UK and internationally – most recently as Chief Executive of Tesco Central European Clothing, and prior to that as Chief Executive of Tesco UK Clothing and International Sourcing. After coming to the UK in 1987 from the USA to run Debenhams and Harvey Nichols, he became CEO of the Burton Group and then Arcadia until 2000. John has also served as a non-exec director of BAA; Chairman of the BFC and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. 

 

 Jeremy Cox
Financial Controller
Jeremy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Brebners. Before joining Change Management Group in 2010, he worked for V2 Music Group, Universal Music Group, EMusica Records LLC. He has also previously worked with several start-up Companies. His financial acumen extends from the UK, US to the Far East in dealings with a large number of national and international interests. 

 

  

Nick Scoggins
Business Change Director
Nick has been a programme and delivery manager in the retail industry for over 20 years, managing IT teams for Vodafone, Waterstones, T-Mobile and a large middle eastern retailer. He has worked for both Oracle and SAP and delivered retail and supply solutions for clients including New Look, Sainsburys, WH Smiths, BP, Sainsburys, BHS, Sonae (Portugal), FNAC, Kiabi and BHV (France). He manages our IMEA operation and is based in our Dubai office. 

 

 Frank Rodriguez
Principal Consultant (Retail)
Frank has extensive experience in large cross-geography programme implementations within the retail (grocery, fashion and hardlines) and resource sectors. Prior to joining Change Management Group, Frank was an IT programme manager for Marks & Spencer International, and prior to this spent 8 years within Accenture’s UK Retail practice where he been involved in and directly led Oracle implementations for a number multi-national clients such as Sainsburys, Ikea, M&S, Gap Inc, as well as a global SAP Sales CRM implementation for Royal Dutch Shell. 

 

Karen Massarella
Principal Consultant (Training)
Karen has been involved in training and business change for more than 20 years and has a wealth of experience in all aspects of the training cycle. She specialises in the design and delivery of tailor made courses for companies within the retail sector. In 2007 she was instrumental in delivering a training programme which won a coveted award at Retail Systems 2007 – EPoS Innovation Project of the Year, training over 3000 staff within a 6 week period. Karen’s clients have included Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Country Casuals, Stead & Simpson, Wyevale, Oasis, Per Una and Harvey Nichols. 

 

Ian Dinwiddy
Change Consultant (Business)
Ian is a Retail and Supply Chain professional with business process improvement, and project management experience within the Retail, Distribution, and Manufacturing sectors. His skills and experience include KPI design, cost reduction, lean manufacturing and business change in multi-function, end-to-end supply chain environments. Recent work has included developing Operating Models for large multi-national retailers, with particular focus on Range Change process redesign.

Change Consultant (Business)

Shanawaz has been working on direct sourcing initiatives across the Indian sub-continent, the Far East and Central Europe. He has held operational roles as well as project roles, playing a vital role in the international sourcing business change team at Tesco. His work has covered process design for all aspects of the sourcing supply chain including vendor management and merchandising. He is fluent in Hindi and English.   

 


Jay Dickieson
Change Consultant (Surveys)

Jay’s expertise lies in survey and research design as well as both quantitative and qualitative analysis. He has experience building consumer behaviour models and generating customer insight. His research has been profiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit. He holds an MSc in Management from Cass Business School in London and an BAH from Queen’s University in Canada. Jay currently manages Tesco’s global supplier survey.

 

Moaki Critchlow-Castro
Business Administrator
Moaki is experienced in events and business management, following an entrepreneurial career over the last 10 years she has worked with organisations operating in entertainment, manufacturing, consulting and international development. She also holds a BA Honours in International Business from Westminster University. At CMG she is responsible for IT, Marketing and Events as well as HR and Financial processes.

Georgina Head
Personal Assistant 

Georgina plays a vital role at Change Management Group as Julia’s Personal Assistant.  She is also responsible for supporting events and the operational management of CMG facilities. Prior to CMG she was working with Julia at Tesco’s as her PA and has extensive experience in this area.

Associate Partner 

Ralph has led significant IT development projects and business change initiatives in the Retail, Internet and Entertainment sectors – largely for blue-chip companies including Tesco, Selfridges, BHS, Mothercare and Universal Music International. He has a broad and detailed understanding of retail and international sourcing processes as well as a track record in delivering complex change and IT projects. Ralph is fluent in English, German and Afrikaans.    

  

Terry Lee

Terry has 25 years’ experience serving as a senior partner at C&Y Management Consulting Group, prior to that, he was Managing Director of Pacific Link Creations, creating numerous highly successful products for Disney and Disney Channel (as licensee) and Kmart and other major retailers (as supplier).  Terry holds an MBA from Ashridge.  He specialises in improving the profitability and productivity of businesses large and small, with extensive engagements in growth strategy, turnaround, business development, sales force management, operations management and improvement, and commercial due diligence.
